Lumpy wig? Read on for some techniques to achieve the fresh from my scalp look.
It's all about the braids
To achieve the flat look you need to make sure your hair is braided well. The smaller the braids the flatter your wig will lay. It's also a good way to protect your hair from any potential friction. Shorter hair ladies can get away to smoothing down their hair and placing a wig cap on top. Longer hair ladies, get creative with those braiding patterns. For those of you who can't braid like me, you may want to enlist the help of a stylist. Neat doesn't mean tight-protect those follicles.
Wig Size
This one may seem like a no brainer but you would surprised at some of the misleading marketing out there. Wigs aren't one size fit all, of course you can get creative and make them work for you but, better safe than sorry. Take your measurements and make sure it's the right fit for you before purchase. Hot Comb/Wand curler
Tame those fly aways. Due to the way some units are made you may encounter some fine short hairs at the root or the hair maybe be frizzy due to the installation process. This is the perfect time to fire up the flat iron or wand curler. Gently glide it from root to mid-shaft and that's it! Some ladies like to put wax or setting lotion afterwards, if that's what your into go for it!
Flat iron and style as normal. Lay and slay ladies!
